Seurueen kaikki annokset olivat näyttäviä ja ilmeisesti muilla oikein maistuvia. Otin itse eri annoksen ja hieman petyin chicken dumpling soupiin. Maku oli tavanomainen, jossa ainoastaan dumplingit noin 5kpl olivat mainitsemisen arvoisia. Liemestä jäin kaipaamaan enemmän mausteisuutta ja umamia.

Vegan dumpling soup oli hyvä. Liemi oli aavistuksen liian suolainen omaan makuuni ja kaipaisi pientä raikkautta. Dumplingseja täytyy maistaa vielä toistamiseen.

Tilasin kotiintoimitettuna, annos haisi voimakkaasti levältä/kalalta vaikka tilasin porsasta. Possu oli friteerattu kivi kovaksi ja annoksessa ei maistunut mikään muu kuin levä, öljy ja todella tulinen chili. Riisi oli muotoa puuro. Koko annos maistui kuin olisi seisonut päivän lämpimässä.

Lounasaikaan nuudelit tofulla eivät maistuneet yhtään miltään. Sama juttu tofu riisillä. Hämmentävää miten hyvät arvostelut ravintola on saanut. Nuudelikasan alla oli vähän soijaa, päällä taas kasa mauttomia ja maustamatonta nuudelia ja tofua.

Erinomaisen herkullinen ja mehevä kana-dumbling (ainakin keitossa) tätä kannattaa tulla syömään kauempaakin.
Itse keiton liemi oli niin paahteisen täysi, niin että ilman makupaletin treenausta tätä voi kutsua enemmänkin kokemukseksi kuin makumatkaksi. Kerran käyneenä, kokeilen toistekin.

Ihmettelen kovasti hyviä arvosteluja. Ainakin bowl- ja nuudeliannokset olivat hyvin heikot. Kala pilalle kypsytettyä, vähän kaalia mukana eikä oikein muuta. Liikaa suolaa, maustekastikkeillakaan ei saanut pelastettua ruokaa. Ihan tavanomaista mättöruokaa siis. Dumplingeista en tiedä, mutta en aio mennä kokeilemaankaan.

Visited Helsinki and TokyoStreet the other day. I had a great gluten free meal with rice noodles, ginger-fried teriyaki chicken topped with roasted seaweed and a touch of mayo. Really delicious! All that came with characterful and friendly service. I can truly recommend TokyoStreet to all food lovers!

We had two noodle meals today via the "Wolt" food delivery service. One meal was with chicken and one with tofu and vegetables. Both meals came surprisingly quickly. The food was tasty, the portion was fulfilling. Also, using the upper thigh in the chicken dish was a big plus! :)

So far 3 times I have eaten at TokyoSteet. Each time an different dish, and each time has been simply amazing. The Japanese dishes are unlike anything I have ever eaten or seen here in Finland, and since they add new items to the menu regularly it's always a pleasant surprise to see what delicious new dish they have added.
The place is run by two of the most nicest people I have ever met who aren't only good at running a kitchen, they're also great people to talk with!

I had house made noodles with teriyaki chicken. The noodles were so tasty and the chicked just melted in my mouth. I don't need to go to Japan, I just pop in to Tokyo Street at Hietalahti Market hall. This is a small restaurant with big heart. I must also recommend their hot ginger-honey drink. So healthy and good specially during the cold winter.

To step into the market was not my prior travel plan of today. As the weather has been getting colder(or chiller XD) since last night and I have been touring in the city outdoor by foot since this early morning, I was desperately trying to find a cozy place at 5:30pm to warm up and take a rest before I get ready for the evening travel plan. The whole market was about to close and non of the shop was open except "The TokyoStreet". I was not so sure if it's still ok for me to eat in, but Ray and Haruka were smiling and welcoming me to find a seat. I ordered the "salmon teriyaki rice burger" from the menu. It was totally deliciously different from the typical rice burger that I used to have in Asia. All the detail was perfectly done and the combination of the ingredients matched perfectly. Strongly recommend the food and the atmosphere here. If you visit, dont forget to try the hot lemon ginger honey tea.(it was delicious)).

This is such a fresh place to eat in Helsinki. The Japanese food is really healthy and I especially love the green tea with the almond milk. With such lovely owners too, it's a special place nestled in the kauppahalli.
